The brokers didn't buy the offer, they sold the offer to the hedge funds.

It was trading around 109 yesterday, up from an offer price of 100.

That's too bad... I was wondering if they were on the market... but if they aren't... it's a shamed. Many of us small investors got hit from their problems. These convertibles could be very attractive. Generating a high return on a fixed income, while also being able to participate in the rebuilding of the company at the same time.
