If Davis deserves any blame for the energy crisis and dems for deregulation it's insignificant compared to the massive
guilt of the energy cartel and its GOP backers. The gougers put a massive deliberate illegal effort into creating the crisis, exploiting it to the and then waging a huge disinformation campaign to try and blame Davis for it, as he was fighting to put out the fires. Davis didn't realize until afterward how crooked it all was and that's why he started investigating. In the meantime, the energy companies have raped and robbed every citizen of California, not to mention most others in the nation. This deflection of blame back to Davis is a huge cynical lie. Like a bankrobber blaming the cops for a robbery because they didn't show up in time to stop it. The energy cartel is just hoping to get away with their massive theft (estimates 20 billion plus in gouging in California alone so far) and are using part of their ill-gotten gains to pay for a massive negataive ad attack campaign. In these ads they make fun of Davis for causing brown-outs while not identifying themselves. The crooks blamign the cops again basically. It's an ugly corruption of democracy, my friends, stolen money creatuing soft money to buy false advertising and the only reason they're doing it is because they know they're 100% guilty and want to confuse voter opinion so they can skeedaddle. And yes Pete Wilson did push ("force" is also a word I've heard used) energy deregulation on California, though obviously some Dems were snookered by the scam as well. I doubt they'll be snookered again. As for Davis taking energy contributions I have seen a list of his many large contributors and didn't see a single energy company amongst them. So where do you get that? Please try and be accurate instead of just partisan. I've done my research now do yours. And open your eyes. The energy gougers are not good for the GOP. They may indeed bring your party down at the next election.
