Imagine an integrated oil company seriously backing research into safe hydrogen storage for fuel cells ! > In the early 1980s the oil companies were calling themselves energy companies and doing research and producing in all sorts of non-oil energy, from sugar beet to fusion research. My ex-boss worked for Shell in the very early 1970s on hydrogen as a fuel. It's a false idea that many people have that they just want to sell oil.
