Matthews did go over the WP poll last night. And marveled at how Bush is doing so well against the hostile media onslaught by Liberal bastions like the partisan Dem NYTimes. Very interesting finding - under the GOP control in 2001 Congress had the highest approval in 30 years. Since the Dems stole the Senate the approval in the same WP poll that has Bush up has Congress declining markedly in public esteem. Congress, with the hyper partisan Daschle hurting the institution, has fallen to just 48% approval. That should bode well for GOP gains. Another finding from that WP poll, Cheney - supposedly the captive of corporate America - is now more popular than McCain - the self-styled populist and Liberal media darling.
