Prog man, that is a very interesting angle that you have observed about USV and SUNW's eventual dominance of the server market. I personally know nothing of the technical points you have made from a working knowledge but I am willing to take it on face value that you know what you are talking about.

Do you actually believe that the chip will reach the THz level? Aren't there physical limitations of scientific physical universe. I know you are not talking about photolithography limits which do have a finite size. The finiteness represents an end point to Moore's law in about 2015. Isn't that correct. This is due to the fact that chip circuitry will be as close as the atomic distances which is where they must stop. Correct?

You are referring to innovative chip architecture MAJIC which when used with JAVA ans SOLARIS allow for maximum throughput. Is this correct?

Well it sounds like SUNW, in spending on research (actually increasing research by 12%) have a definite plan of siezing the high ground and staying there for a long time.

What makes you think that IBM will not compete, and be a factor in competition with USV. Also, are you counting INTC out of the competition for such chips?

Thanks for your encouraging post!

PS News has improved light years for SUNW lately, as has the stock.
