Hmmm. I was going to build an Athlon system, but after seeing these Palomino SSE results, I'll wait for Palomino:

Details of new SiSandra results:
Athlon / 1.2GHz / AMD760 / PC2100: 1,619
Pentium 4 / 1.7 GHz / i850 / PC800: 2,060

However, what is important to notice is that using the new, enhanced version of the Sandra bandwidth benchmark yields more than a 100% increase in performance for the Athlon / DDR SDRAM combo but less than a 50% gain for the Pentium 4.


Pretty impressive, can't wait for dual channel DDR results using NVidia chipset. The days of embarrassing memory performance results due to this [formerly] poorly optimized benchmark are over.
