Well, heck, nepotism of a sort got Al Gore his Senate seat, and caused Andrew Cuomo to get a cabinet appointment under Clinton, and allowed Hillary to head the healthcare task force. I am sure I can find a lot of similar instances if I try, but it is too tiresome......

Along with young Bunning, Bush also nominated for the federal bench in Kentucky one Karen L. Caldwell, 45. She used to date Mitch McConnell, "Beanball"'s counterpart in the U.S. Senate. Ha ha ha. It's all a big joke.
