In oils, there were a few big downgrades, including RIG by B of A and RDP by JP Morgan, also the gulf hurricane (though supportive to the commodity), won't be doing any favors to the companies that do business there:

On the metals, who knows, the XAU looked OK. The base metals could be weak for any number of reasons, most related to general economic softness, I guess...

Gold is up and that is the only metal I really care about.

Downward pressure on the CRB probably reflects the accumulating evidence that we have entered a global recession

Saw something recently on potential change in Defense spending for JSF. Also, many natural gas turbines are being delayed/canceled as a result of the power price cap- there was an article recenlty which explained how the cap for peak power destroyed the ROI. Don't know this is true, just that some planned peakers are being withdrawn. RTI plays in the turbine space, though I got the impression that aircraft was a less significant part of their sales. Oil drilling CAPEX looks to be lower going forward.

Any of these is a stretch. RTI seems worse hit than TIE.
