The "6 months supply" refers to an estimate that the ANWR could supply all of the US's oil needs for 6 months. However it would take more then 6 months to get the oil out of the ground so it would actually do something more like provideing 5% of US oil needs for 10 years or maybe a lower percentage for an even longer time. Its going to take ten years to get the oil out which is estimated to be sufficient to keep the US going for 6 mos. And there is no guarantee that recovery is economically feasible. But that's okay...do I hear pork by Bush? ted
