JRI,
Well, it wouldn't be the first time I've been faked out, and I'm sure by the time I'm through there will be more fake-outs added to my resume! LOL
I have found that breakdowns usually are re-tested. Yes, I am not expecting the currently failed rally to come back to life until the downward pressure exhibited by today's action has run it's course (days, week?). I think it would be reasonable to expect a downward bias now with lower lows and lower highs. Surely though, profit potentials exist if one can play within the anticipated daily range, buying at the low end of the range and selling the higher end (or reverse - selling the high and covering the low).
You raise a good point about "margin of manipulation". I notice you have been asking many good questions of skilled posters on other threads (commendable) and I suspect you may have an opinion of your own. Care to share? What do you think is possible or probable for next week? Promise I won't give you a hard time....hehe
Best,
Eichler
