The inheritance tax is nothing but a gift to the tax avoidance industry. It doesn't affect the rich (the ostensible target) because they can afford to hire the best (and bribe law makers to sneak exemptions into gigantic bills for their benefit).

Warren Buffet gave it away when he lobbied long and loudly (and self righteously) against its repeal - and then we discovered he owned H&R Block.

With our system of capitalism, and our immigration rate of 800,000 a year (would be somewhere around 3 million if it was for quotas), there should never be an aristocracy such as one that could dominate the American business landscape. Just look at how many billionaires there are and there are about 6 million millionaires in this country. The inheritance tax should be abolished on principal.
