That's kind of the way I feel. Some of the things he did seemed good on their faces. His "legacy" suffers from the same problem his state of the union did when he said "I did NOT have ...." Or it's like a movie set with a beautiful exterior and no substance.

I couldn't stand Clinton, but I didn't sneer at everything he did.

What do you mean no friends? More than half Americans agree Bush is a poor, negative President per the latest poll. I'm hardly alone. Expect that number to continue to rise once the news/evidence comes out about the energy ripoffs which robbed money from every American (and around the world too woith collaborator OPEC) at the expense of our democracy and environment.

I would stop attacking Bush if he gets behind campaign finance reform, against global warming and balances his backward-looking "drill everywhere" mentality with a collosal new alternative clean fuels and efficiency policy which is really what we need and want. But don't expect that - ever.

Otherwise everything I see he and his cronies do is strictly for the benefit of his big soft money contributors and consumers and environment are of almost zero importance to him. Well guess what, GW? Consumers can vote you and your kind out of office, and will.

As for your not liking CLinton, you should be missing him now. Whatever your reasons for disliking him (party loyalty?) he was the most successful president of our lifetimes, a fact Republicans hate to admit. And all that Kenneth Starr business did was find one piece of nooky in the Oval Office. Not exactly worth the 100 million in legal fees, was it? Also the GOP was raising just as much if not more money from Asian sources as it now turns out. But we don't hear an apology.

If special prosecutor looks into Bush-Cheney's business expect to find our worst fears confirmed (unless you live in the Oil Patch maybe). Rampant collusion and control tactics using controlled energy prices as a weapon to gouge Americans. Soft money for favors everywhere, always.
Tactics designed to deflect and misinform us about their acts and intentions. Insiders profiting everywhere and the White House basically being run by a handful of greedy CEO's and lobbyists. Also expect to see our surplus (and tax cuts) go into their pockets. And for them to be totally unapologetic about it. Shameless in their arrogance. They are confident they can hoodwink voters with their "heartland" talk, "people of faith" BS, when they're not even religious themselves. I have no sympathy for this bunch. They have it coming and will get it. Just like Nixon/Agnew. Stay tuned.
