Albert, <As I pointed out before it is more in the AMD's interest to use HT while intel does not have anything>

Even without 3GIO, Intel already has HubLink and other bus technologies that serve similar purposes as HyperTransport. The advantage AMD has isn't as significant as you might think.

<I was afraid that Jerry would challenge intel with ht but he proved to be smarter than that>

AMD has always relied on Intel to blaze trails for them.

intel was played for a fool here so what are you so happy about. As I pointed out before it is more in the AMD's interest to use HT while intel does not have anything and then let intel spend money on standard development. If intel would want to use HT then they would have to pay royalties but if amd would want to use 3GIO they do not have to pay intel anything.
I was afraid that Jerry would challenge intel with ht but he proved to be smarter than that

How typical of Droid thinking.

If intel tries to make a "standard" and get everyone to pay for it (ie: Rambus), then they get they get crapped on by AMDroids. If AMD does the same thing, then they're smart.

On the other hand, according to your AMDroid thinking, If Intel helps develop a free "standard", then they're "fools". But if AMD does the same thing, then they're displaying their superiority, for helping foster technology development all over the place.

How typical.....

Albert,
RE:"If Intel would want to use HT then they would have to pay royalties but if amd would want to use 3GIO they do not have to pay intel anything."

Even though Intel is giving away the standard it accomplishes a few things. One, Intel maintains their position as leader not follower and bigger than that it gives them a big head start in developing products based on the 3GIO standard. Meanwhile HT likely fades into obscurity.
