<as if I am tuned into a dark cosmic puzzle requiring solution and a cellular wrong requiring redemptive action>

My feelings too as far as the dark cosmic puzzle part of it goes. But I'm a little less worried about making converts to the 'golden path'. I have trouble enough keeping myself on the road to nirvana without getting others on the road too - though I like to comment on their choice of 'golden path', or, as some choose, their SUV to check out my own mental framework. I'm aware that other people can save me from my own false fantasies if I expose my ideas and they show where I am entering dreamland. Which means, I suppose, that I have come to the Church of Jay [and CB] for redemption and enlightenment.

I agree that herbal therapy is a good thing [in very restricted ways] - I am indulging a nice cup of tea right now. Acupuncture is just psychotherapy [which, as we all know, is not all bad because it's our psyche which drives us]. Americans get the placebo effect because of their cultural obsession with swallowing stuff [which too often includes Big Macs besides pills and potions]. Chinese get it by "Hey, lemme stick these needles in you" at which prospect a few endorphins come flooding out in panic at the mere thought and then as the nerves send panic messages to "Fear Central" = "Major attack underway, here, here and here - focus on this, forget the back!!".

Maybe some acupuncture could take everyone's minds off the Great Financial Panic and save the world. Everyone go and stick needles in yourselves and see if you don't feel better and the world's economy doesn't looks a brighter place. For added effect, you could fill the needles with heroin and squirt that in [don't share needles = AIDS]
