During the past 2 weeks, the earnings estimates from First Call for the group continue to deteriorate rapidly. Even "next years" earnings, which should be starting to increase, if you believe that a recovery is coming in 2002 and 2003, is continuing to go down. DPMI, KLAC and LRCX did have "next year" earnings increases, but not nearly enough to overcome the rest of the group downward revisions.
