I turned off the computer, closed the door, at least I knew where it was!! I turned the light on in the room so while we were gone it would not be flying around...except I was sorta stupid at the same time. I left the window open, I was hoping it would fly out, if it did start moving. I didn't think about the fact that it might accidently attract another bat into the house. Whew, luckY for me, it did not!! It was still in the same place when we got home (Looked in the den from outside the house, to figure that out!!!) Then we turned on a light outside, and turned off the one inside, after about 5 minutes it started swooping around in the den....(just the thought of it, gives me the shivers) It took about 10-15 minutes for it to make its way out the window. But I was too chicken, even after the kids seen it fly out the window, to go in the den and close the window. Then after it was gone, I still found myself checking out the crown moldings at the top of the rooms looking for bats. The whole bat incident was made better, or maybe worse, by the fact that at the amusement park on Wednesday we were walking past a parked car, and on the bumper was a dead bat. Of course the boys were fascinated by the dead one. It's wing were spread out, so ya could get a real good visual image of what they really look like. Kevin was totally fascinated by it. As for the live one, Michael, tired to be brave yesterday afternoon. But then got scared (don't blame him, he was initially far braver than I was) Emily kept checking on it all day, to make sure it had not moved. Through the whole adventure, I'd say she was the bravest!!! Brian would rather not look at it.....(a boy after my own heart!!!) And Kevin just thought it was cool to look at. I am just glad it is out of here!!! Smiles Jane
