Many firms only file at the 45-day limit, it's not unusual.

That's because they assume - correctly - that most people don't know and don't care about SEC filings. They can play the pro forma game in the PR and get away with it.

And 10-Q's can be much less detailed than 10-K's. Don't be surprised if there is no explanation about the stock-based compensation in this filing. 10-Q's are unaudited and give you little more than skimpy financial tables and some boilerplate language.

HOMS will die when CD and AOL get tired of keeping them alive.
