Iso, an interesting figure to me...$15 billion, sounding like some real money, begging the pardon of the
late Senator Everett Dirkson' phrase. What I have gleaned form various sites, if the figures can be trusted
is that total US bank exposure to shaky Latin American economies is something like $500!! billion.
One of my favorite songs from the 60's which was used so well with high camp in "Ameican Werewolf in London"
is Credence' Bad Moon Risin'. Looks Latin America be singin' that tune for long time and it is amazing to me how silent CNN.fn and Bubblevision are on the topic of debt crisis facing banks. Also fascinating
to ponder the hidden (sic) war of interests between American companies like Merck and Boeing who need
a weaker dollar to compete as oppossed to American based banks, the biggies we all hold so dear, Chase,
BAC, etc. The two camps clearly have mutually exclusive interests as far as movements of dollar are concerned.
What an interesting year we face.
