We routinely vacation in Brewster. The kids love it and there's plenty to keep Karen and I interested. Brewster's beaches are on the bay side of the cape and experience two high tides per day. On low tide, the "Brewster Flats" extend out for over two miles.

It was very pleasurable taking a two mile walk on the soft sand and examining the abundant sea life left behind. It gave me an execellent opportunity to just talk with my teenage son. We solved many of the world's problems including why humans can't remember the future <ggg>.

One problem that we couldn't solve was why Brewster experiences two tidal cycles per day. Simple question, right? We took our problem to the Cape Cod Natural History Museum where we found a staff person willing to admit that he didn't know the complete answer and proceeded to research the problem. Interesting stuff. We learned many things about the world's tides. (Perhaps I can e-mail the Museum about why a 2 x 4 is not actually 2" x4").

I read in a Cape Cod newspaper about the Indians wanting to open a casino. The article indicated that due to the opposition the likelihood of a casino opening is years away.
With all of the wealth on Martha's Vineyard, I can't picture
exactly where the Indian reservation is.

I didn't know that Venezuela had a casino. If they opened a casino in Venezuela anything is possible. Venezuela's economy is in dire straits and they don't do much to attract tourism...so who's burning money there?

Glad to hear your Mom is doing well. Keep trying on the smoking. It took me years and many attempts to quit. I haven't had a cigarette or the desire to smoke since binging out at Doug's Annapolis pow wow after not smoking for two years at that time. It gets easier as time goes by
...you get tired of failing. If you keep trying you're likely to succeed.
