Funny report. I'm tempted to give a copy to my music minister who would get a knowing charge out of it. His musical productions usually come off without any apparent hitches, but they're inevitable with such large numbers of volunteer performers and stagehands and do happen sometimes. I'm always amazed at how well kids do in their solo numbers, singing before a large crowd and never faltering that I can remember.

Sounds like you had an evening that will be long remembered by the kids and your family.

What a classic piece! Polish it up and submit it to the New Yorker. The messing up sounds like a typical kids play, but I've never seen a kids play with such dramatic props -- a whale bit enough to hold an actor, symbolic lighting...

And, you know, the kids won't remember a thing of the wrong parts, just the wonderful time they had and all the applause.
