Just wondering if the same has been happening with them. I am curious to know if this gave any kind of edge to Cisco in its bid to gain in its battle with NT.
If that has happened, it could give a (possibly) false indication that the industry has stabilized or is recovering

Capex spending for long haul market recovery not likely until mid 2002 or even 1Q 2003. This to me is not good for NT, LU, ALA and even JDSU.

Metro/Edge service provider market still shows strength and continues to grow. Good for stocks like ONIS, SONS, EXTR.

Enterprise networking market stabilizing, but no indications as to when will it start to grow again.

Europe now feeling the same pain that North American equipment market felt 3-6 months ago.

China/N. Korea seem to be the two wild cards. Everybody is betting on China/Korea but I now doubt for how long will they continue to pick up the slack. With American economy being weak, it might start hurting China's export and eventually their infrastructure spending.

Cisco plays in almost all markets and so I think will perform better short/long term any other equipment player.

Just my two cents.

Are Chambers' comments that important? When he was aggressively bullish many many months ago did he really have a grip on the state of his business? What is different this time..... a new , improved , sharper outlook ?!
