Worldview, a US$750 million VC fund, SingTel Ventures, the venture capital arm of Singapore Telecom, and TotalEcom, a business to business e-commerce enabling company formed by Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW) and NetCel, totaled the first round of funding at HK$109.2 million. eGlobal claims to have developed an innovative business model for accelerating the entry of world class software firms into Asia-Pacific markets. The company established software sales, marketing and support operations in ten Asia Pacific countries in 1999, with a staff of 120. eGlobal delivers all the staff and infrastructure required for emerging e-business software vendors to accelerate entry into Asia-Pacific markets. The company said its expertise and comprehensive services helped Asia-Pacific customers obtain local access, support and the latest software technology.
