The connection is, indeed, more apparent in dance, but even then, as I was growing up, the fast dances, no matter how suggestive, were not considered the really sexy ones, it was the slow dances that might lead to something. Considering the sort of dance numbers one can see in 50s musicals, or in Las Vegas, where short skirts, sequined tights, and high heels were merely the start of a somewhat different flaunting of the female figure, I do not think that sex and rock needed one another to flourish. Also, although dance videos are hot right now, and many are suggestive, there have always been many videos that were "arty" or romantic rather than sexual.......
