It's nice that the Justices understand this fact. Keeps them from going off the deep end. Unless they gain control of the Army, compliance with Supreme Court decrees is voluntary. The Clinton administration demonstrated this fact by blatantly ignoring the Beck decision with no consequences - political or legal.

Justice Stephen G. Breyer said the December decision, like recent controversial Supreme Court decisions on abortion and religion, is remarkable for "the fact that losers as well as winners will abide by the result, and so will the public."
