"Dan Niles said INTC slashing prices by 50% on the high end Aug 26th.. P4 isn't selling."

Hmmmm...Are we now entering a 12 month phase when "apples to apples" P4's/Athys will be priced realistically in economic terms? i.e will P4, which performs inferiorly at the same MHz level as the Athy, be priced inferiorly at that MHz level? And if P4 performance is inferior to Athy at a given Mhz level, will that stigmatize higher MHz P4 performers?(i.e. if inferior at same level, do I really want to have to purchase a higher priced and highe MHz level product in attempt to obtain same quality of performance?

Can't wait for those benchmark comparisons of same level MHz P4's/Athys to surface...The consumer will no longer be duped!

Not good for anyone long AMD or INTC.

Pricewars is getting more intense. AMD could be very red this quarter. Intel is barely in green and priced very high by the market. I continue to say that there is money to be made on the short side of INTC.

The only question is if Intel is going to tell the story little by little, or drop the bomb in about 4 weeks time. We'll see.
