While ARRS is banking on the VoIP telephony; RCN(Paul Allen' last mile effort) is trying to put a foot in the door with special introduction of cable modem and 200 plus channel cable subscription at $85/month. They have abandoned adding local telephony($150/month for all three services) to keep this subscription below $99/month.

Meanwhile, ATT broadband is trying to get new subscribers with $19.95/month until 2002. The average subscriber paid $56 at ATT broadband.

So, ARRS better listen to their customers and look at their subscription fee and see what is more sellable for cable expansion purposes?
