Albert, aren't those huge price cuts on P4 exactly what "our own" Mike Magee reported weeks ago?
But we also know that Intel sold 1.4 (1.5?) P4's for $100 apiece to DELL and probably all the major OEM's in late Q2 to stave off AMD design wins. So $135 for these parts in late August is a joke -- only the SD shops will pay that much.
So why is all of this considered news?

John, I think it's just because Niles, and SSB, hadn't come out about the "huge price cuts" yet. We knew about them, Magee did and reported on them, but the big Wall Street customers that don't know much about Intel or AMD hadn't been "told" yet. It's something like, there are a lot of sports fans on these threads, but if Time Magazine were to put Barry Bonds on the cover, saying he has Mark McGwire's home run record in jeopardy, a lot of casual baseball fans would be finding that out for the first time.

John
theere is no new info, agreed. LB and SSB informed the rest of the universe and sell off followed :-))
SSB's report was particularly damaging since the 1st time since April that they said that there is no recovery at this point. Of course that followed by regular BS about recovery that can start any second now
