Of course. The old money families are the exception, but even they are dwindling in their fortunes. The Kennedys are, from what I've heard, clinging to their dwindling fortunes like rats on a sinking ship.

The vast majority of money doesn't hold on to it. There's no need for redistribution schemes like the estate tax when for the most part, the inheritors or their children will blow it in any case. New money families will take their places, and disappear just the same.
