Well, obviously you've seen it more recently than I have. There weren't any faux lesbian scenes in it 25 years ago. Nor, I think, when Buckley wrote for it and Carter got interviewed for it, which are the situations that brought up here in the first place.

This started with the mention that Buckley wrote for Playboy, Message 16174679
and somebody else mentioned that Carter gave an inteview for it
Message 16174713
then somebody asked why Buckley would contribute to a porno magazine
Message 16174798

So the pertinent question for this discussion isn't is it a porno magazine now, but was it a porno magazine when Buckley wrote for it and Carter got interviewed for it.

I don't think there were faux lesbian spreads back then. I never subscribed, and don't think I ever bought a copy myself, but there were lots of copies around the dorm in college and I occasionally glanced into them. It was racy, but in lots of ways less racy than you see in many of the ads and movies and on TV today.

Of course, you may consider all that porno. Along with a goodish percentage of the "great" art of the Renaissance. If that's your definition, Playboy was porno. It isn't mine.
