OK...I believe you but thousands wouldn't!

"Get a grip - AMD is under siege - and remember - Competition is GOOD - even if AMD has to post a loss to compete !"

No doubt AMD is feeling the effects of economic recession but financial statement deterioration over the past two years pales when compared to INTC's alarming financial falloff, evidenced by revenues that have declined by about $7 billion annually or 25% over this 2 year period...P4 isn't selling now and at half current P4 prices INTC has to sell double the current number to break even on revenues while taking a major hit on margins...Just not going to be a pretty sight around INTC in q3 and q4!

Paul,
RE:"These are normal price drops - accompanied by the introduction of NEW CPU Speed grades at the FORMER high prices."

The distribution of prices seems much more highly skewed to the top 1 or 2 speed grades. After 1.8 and 1.7 Ghz...price drops off like a rock. I'm not sure Intel can get enough suckers to pay top dollar for a 1.8 GHz P4...they will likely just buy a 1.5 or an Athlon.
