Ted, hunting often is killing animals for food. True few hunters would starve without hunting, but they would eat meat from other animals that where killed if they didn't hunt. Why is hunting an animal and then killing and eating it worse then killing a bull, or a pig, or a chicken to eat? Tim

tejek, re: technically we are carnivores Actually, we're omnivores. re: I don't consider killing animals for food and using the remaining skin for shoe products the same as going out and killing animals for sport. So it's all about location and whether you do the work yourself? Not one dollar of the money I give the grocery store goes toward any woodland creature. Unlike all other forms of taxes, hunting and fishing tags, by law, go directly to support habitat or science for wild animals. If you really wanted to help wildlife, buy a hunting and fishing license and stay home. PS: Hunting, killing, cleaning, packing out and eating wild game gives one a deep appreciation and respect for wildlife and the places they live. Hunters are the original conservationists.
