The only way you will ever get an understanding of the Cold War is to understand the implications of the Soviet "Client State". Few liberals have even the least concept, even though the period of history has been over for years. Of course, liberals only prefer to read revised history, rather than the real thing. This helps explain why our academic institutions are approaching worthlessness.

The failure of Vietnam was a classic lesson in the failure to use timely and overwhelming force in situations where force is called for. The cost to the US was immense...

I was referring back to 1947. We had worked with the Vietminh against the Japanese in WW II. After the war, they asked for aid. I think countries showing off is for MTV's Real World and real life analysis like they have there.
