I don't short. I just can't see housing holding up. This time is not different. The best that housing can do is stay afloat, but it's not enough to power the economy and if lay offs continue as it appears they are doing, housing WILL crack and so will retail sales.

If I had any homebuilders I would have sold them long ago.

"Still long techs but not as confident due to the possibility of PC sales dropping this quarter because of a launch of Windows xp in the fourth quarter. Not so sure that people will look past Q3 yet. I have no doubts about Q4 being very good".

Still long on msft? It's probably fully valued down here looking at other software stocks.

And still thinking q4 will be good? Dell doesn't think so. Neither do those at the wsj. Pc's aren't a "must replace" item any longer and there are fewer and fewer first time buyers. I bet q4 is NOT good and msft has to finally admit pc sales are never coming back to the old growth rate they had.

They'll be depending on the x box for growth. They'll need to reinvent themselves, something that is very hard to do especially given their big size now.
