Yes, India is another of the major global culture hearths (with the Middle East, China, West Africa, and Mexico at least). It does seem however that the Middle East did have a lead in agriculture mainly on the northern fringes of Mesopotamia between the plains and the mountains and early urban development a long time before the date you give - I'm not talking about the later big cities of Mesopotamia and Egypt. I'm not sure how old the earliest Egyptian and Mesopotamian writing and texts is - something to look up. I had the impression that those Hindu texts were a lot later than the date you give.

Alphabetic writing systems seem to have been discovered at several times in different places around 2000-1400BC. Including Greece (Crete) and the Levant. I asked a local Sanskrit scholar here the other day how old the Indian writing systems were and he gave me a date much later - maybe in the last few centuries BC.

But I'm no authority on any of this and could be wrong.
