Syncie: To tell you the truth I am still researching this myself ; but I will tell you what I know. The 'estate' was passed down to the eldest son. All the other sons then lived under the new patriarch. The first born, the oldest son, the majority, possible all the estate went to the eldest son, That is why Joseph was having a fit saying father , you are making a mistake Manasseph is the oldest , but Jacob crossed his hands. But for a moment......lets think. Even if it wasnt all about wealth, possessions, land, farms ect. It was about POSITION, AUTHORITY, the NAME. To me that is what it is about. We have the POSITION , and the NAME and the RESPONSIBILITY that goes along with the double portion blessing, the right hand blessing of God .......Enjoy and savor the goodness of God ...isnt God Good...In Christ ....Gregor
