ALTR is surely a strong looking chart, if I was not that bearish on the sector in general that would be one would buy, not sell. The 0DMA is just ready to cross over the 200 DMA, any retreat should be stop there (just above $27.5), a break of the congestion at $33.5 would be quite bullish IMTO.

Jay,

I thought Joseph's call on INTC was quasi-capitulation as well. After the Spring call and the reaffirmation last week, how can he come out negative on the biggest semi there is? Is this a stealth warning that SSB may change their outlook? I'm sure you've seen the recent reports that AMAT may be laying off more people after a honorable attempt at preserving employment for the next upswing. If Morgan can give a translucent and honest forecast for business going forward next Tuesday, we may get the event that knocks off the last leg for the NAZ. Layoffs would be a signal that things aren't getting better soon for the equips, although the market may "buy the bottom". Sheez! Speculation on my part, but I'm still waiting for the "worst year ever" colors to shine through. <g>

Tom

I shorted ALTR, PMCS, and some semi equips.

CSFB, as Gomer Pyle would say, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
