That is right. Here the conservatives do not want to change the Constitution, as Al Gore does when he calls it a living document. In England, a rightie would be someone protecting monarchy and colonialism. Here, a conservative would also be one who wants laissez fairre. But a compassionate conservative would also fight for a safety net of some sort. Whereas, a leftie want total control over everything.

If you consider that a revolution occurred in Russia about a decade ago, then they can also qualify as counter-revolutionaries. However, "conservative" is also a synonym for right wing pro-capitalist, anti-statists in this country. And gao is closer than you and your evil twin. Leftists advocate state control of the economy in varying degrees. Surely you don't have the same learning disability richie does.
