Roebear, the whole purpose for my appearance was to participate in the recovery of the SD thread. I don't normally get involved in any type of Internet discussion since it does involves a certain amount of writing ability. Writing is hard, real hard...

My fear of loosing this often-entertaining thread was bigger than my fear of writing. I'm happy to see that my posts are being appreciated and I will continue to offer (hopefully) a different perspective and more of my own editorial content. [ ...... no kidding ...... ]

Thank you and isopatch for the acknowledgement.

Regards
Frank P.

Excellent post, Roebear. Couldn't agree more!

One of the important lessons I learned from TGCFF is how easy it is for us to be baited into the trap of constantly fighting to defend ourselves from personal attacks. That serves the attackers purpose especially when part of their agenda is to promote other threads via their efforts to fill this one with a lot of negative OT posts.

So now, I ignore a lot of snipes and name calling. And, when I think it's time to deal with an unprovoked personal attack? 1 or 2 short bursts from the phaser and that's the end of it as far as I'm concerned.

Then, if someone tries to prolong the problem? They stand out like a sore thumb. And in the long run they are the one's who slowly loose credibility. It becomes pretty obvious to everybody when someone jumps into the middle of every disagreement to fan the flames that he has a negative agenda.

Had just finished reading and replying to Art when I saw your post, Roebear. Am very glad you stuck it out here. There certainly were some difficult times, when the thread raids were sometimes truly massive.

Another postive thing I've noticed is ALMOST all these former thread raiders have realized how pointless and counterproductive it is to do that. IMO, most of them are basically decent folks who're tired of being prompted, even pressured, by 1 or 2 vindictive types to gang up on us.

And returning to the positive trends of the past month or two, came across quite an interesting post (on another board) by one such individual. He wrote that he's recently become a regular reader here because our gold analysis is excellent and he finds it helps him to make money.

As to your animal question? How bout, credit where credit is due?<G>

Let's give it up for....

Elvis! The GOLDEN retriver!<G>

Just ink those paws and turn him loose on the the Journel. Not only can he pick stocks, like an animal<g>, but he even solved the mystery of the missing economist who developed the leading edge concept of the World Dollar Base.<BG>

So, how bout that?! A big dog better at DD than some humans?! Man's best friend, for sure!

Right now he's "in the nod"<g> after a nifty ride in the car and getting the op to meet the H.S. Cross Country Team. What a life!

Best,

Iso

Excellent post. Noticed from Bloomberg: Seems to be a bit of hoarding of the cash/dinero down Argentine way lately. Got gold? Got guns? Got safes and safe rooms?
