I think you misunderstood what he was saying, I belive he was attempting to liken large commercial mining where they pull out all they can mine at current prices to (deep sea) commercial fishermen whom overfish to point of resource destruction.

Plenty of self employed, healthy individuals instead of overweight computer bugs. No more farming crises as gold diggers eat like a horse. Big savings in the health care, female population no more complaining about lack of real males. Nothing but the benefits. Ps: Individuals aged 50 and over can use some small power equipment.
