JJ, here's an on topic for the thread. Looks like Compaq has updated their website with faster Tualatin based servers, and the 900 MHz 4-way and 8-way beasts are back:

p.s., Re :"Many of us simply don't have time to wade through hundreds of useless posts everyday (or even just a few, for that matter)."

Didn't that post of yours add one of exactly what you were complaining about?

JJ,

re: "This is a thread for thoughts and news concerning AMD and overall semiconductor industry. It is intended to help the participants get relevant info on AMD in order to maximize profits."

You guys should add... "Let's devote at least 65% of the posts to bashing Intel. Any criticism of Intel, regardless of it's factual merit, will be tolerated."

There is more BS per paragraph on this thread than there is on any SI thread. You should encourage dissenting views, just so you don't get a completely warped view of the industry.

"Many of us simply don't have time to wade through hundreds of useless posts everyday (or even just a few, for that matter)." Would you rather wade through posts based on false information, that go unopposed?

It's OK to insult companies or their employees, but not other posters? How about if you guys ban anyone that has insulted Craig Barrett? Or Paul Otellini? Or Intel? If the goal is being polite, this thread is missing the mark.

Truth is elusive, especially in this industry. Banning dissenting opinions only gets you farther away, regardless of the style of the posts.

Waste of time...

John
