His oil friends made him rich? Demolibs pinheads like Mehissyfit have been bashing Bush for leading a "privileged" life and cite his failing oil ventures as an example of his lack of competence? So which is it?

I think Krugman stretched a point in this piece; sure, Bush sympathises with oilmen (and with GWB the personal is political; it's everything), but there's not much he can do about OPEC's decisions, and little point in pissing them off needlessly when he needs their co-operation on other matters.
