There were some. Most were hoping for an ASTRONICAL lottery number. And some volunteered. Some joined ROTC and went in as officers. There are always some patriots.

That is one of the decent things that Oliver Stone did. He was at Princeton, and felt like college pukes out not to be shirking, so he joined the Army.......
