A positive note for the 60s was of course landing on the moon. I'm not old enough, but have spoken with former NASA engineers from that period. Apparently engineering divorce rates went through the roof due to the lengthy hours worked.

Another interesting item was that the USS Kennedy had been scheduled to recover the capsule. President Nixon changed that.

The war on poverty turned me into a Republican. I had such high hopes for it but it was just another democrat boondoggle to enrich themselves and their supporters. They could care less whether it worked.
