Fully convert the 12.4% we pay now to private individual control, and most people would be receptive to raising the limit, voluntarily. Raising it as a matter of law is kind of like the government forcing you to sock 20% into your 401k because it's good for you and you aren't smart enough to realize it. In other words, another liberal Utopia. Amazing that so many people in 1992 were swept away by the charlatan Ross Perot's "Take your country back!", but it occurred to so few of them that Social Security is the most immediate and comprehensive theft..
