1. The Democrats, NOT the Republicans, are the kings of scare tactics. What's all this talk about Nuclear Winters, Global Warming, and the Caribou in ANWR are going to stop screwing because of nearby drilling rigs? 2. National Security IS the most rational conceivable defense. You might have heard the phrase "provide for the common defense". On the other hand, you haven't heard "provide for the common defense of the freaking caribou". You are the king of unsupported/unsupportable statements. I'd suggest you not be accusing other people...

This is very typical...you are not able to rationally defend your position, so you bring up the fear factor...national security. The Rep party is the party of scare tactics. To get these big budget, life threatening, environment damaging issues thru the Congress, the Reps. preface their introduction with "should X, Y or Z not be passed, the security of the American people will be in jeopardy". That is really pretty funny...just replace "Republicans" with the "Democrats", "national security" with "social security", and "american people" with "retired people". Brian
