Aargh! The problem here is that deep down inside I agree with you. In truth, the thing that *really* riled me up was not that there are people out there that complain about the concept of moderation. What angered me was that people are resorting to accusations that this is all a plot to rid the thread of anti-Intel people. Actually, I wouldn't mind implanting all posters with a computer chip that administers tiny electrical shocks whenever the poster takes pleasure in the suffering of others. That way, no one faction would suffer more than others, save possibly for the RMBS people. ;) No, no, seriously.... I have been making comments supportive of the moderation, but I wanted to clarify that I am doing this to be supportive of Mani, who is clearly not an AMD bull (he shorted the stock recently, has complained about crappy AMD management, and is not optimistic about the near future outlook), but is being directly accused from all sides of being a "dictator" with aspirations of hurting people who are not AMD bulls. This blows my mind so much that I am pulling out all the stops to try to get people to understand that this is not the intent of the moderator, and in my opinion it is so far not the actual result of the moderator's actions. On the side, I should reiterate that not everybody has the ignore feature. Still, I am torn for my irrational irritation at certain people (and the abuse that it may inflict on people who would otherwise contribute but now feel intimidated from posting) and my agreement with your somewhat libertarian sentiment. My brain is exploding, but I personally think that your message here in particular was very thoughtful and insightful. ^_^ -JC PS: Mua-hahaha! VIA C3 will destroy you all! <g>
