Another day where SOX shows relative strength. NDX opened just below yesterday's low, COMPX just above, and SOX way above -- it's around yesterday's close for goodness sakes.

"Panic". It occurs to me that for "panic"/hard down to happen...its going to be the houses that make it happen. I think J6P is largely out of this market right here, and those that buy are not quick-flippers....this is mostly IMO..but I think there is some fundamental support for this So, IMO, the houses are standing around, loaded to gills w/stock they don't really want, they know its overpriced, they tried to "pump" it the past few weeks, and it didn't work. Can we get hard/panic type down in August? I guess so, but I guess one reason why it always seem to happen in Sept/Oct. is that (1) the vacations are over at that time (time to make big decisions again)....(2) also, the patience of WS seems to run out then; summer rally myth has been used up by then...and (3) there is that tax selling thing. I think the houses are looking around right now and saying, "If I sell, no one will buy, so let me hold a bit longer, paint tape, keep it slow, and see if things get better". Of course, at some point, "enlightment" will occur, and down we'll go... (Also, given I see the COMPX as still piggy, I'm praying that the big boys are successfully in creating some sort of silly rally here)
