Frankly, I feel no compassion towards the AMT "victims". If you had all your wealth concentrated in a single asset class (especially a large amount) it's your own friggin' responsibility to learn about how to best manage it. I figure most of these people were trying to exercise and hold for a year, the better to beat Uncle Sam out of the LT-ST cap gains spread. They lost. Too bad. Next.
