Daily Natural Gas Production in Tennessee Has Doubled

Joint Release from Tennessee Department of Economic Development and Department Of Environment and Conservation

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- In a joint release today from Tennessee Department of Economic Development and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, Commissioners Alex Fischer and Milton J. Hamilton report that production of natural gas in Tennessee is on the increase. The state's geological data show the combined total volume of natural gas produced in the state for the year 2000 was 1.15 billion cubic feet produced from about 700 wells. The newest discoveries of natural gas in the state are found in the 50,500-acre Swan Creek natural gas and oil field located in Hancock County. Tengasco (Amex: TGC - news), a publicly traded oil and natural gas company headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, owns Swan Creek leases. With the addition of natural gas production from Tengasco, which began selling natural gas from Swan Creek in April 2001, the total daily volume of natural gas produced in the state has doubled.
