That is exactly the kind of headline we would expect to see...at a market bottom...As any market historian would know, a high number of bullish articles marks tops(the bull on
TIME cover thing), a high number of bearish articles marks bottoms...

Agreed but I cannot remember a time when a market turn came at a level where most companies are trading at multiples unseen historically at market bottoms, are you saying this time its different? The nifty 50 techs of 2000 need a severe adjustment yet before this is done.

The market discounts the future..

yes but not always , sometimes the discounting is a laggard , a few weeks ago they were still talking 2nd half 2001 recovery, now it appears it is more like 2nd half 2002 at best, yet no discounting has been done since April.

The majority are wrong at the turn...

but first the majority needs to accept a trend , they are now just beginning to accept its a bear market, but many still in denial

Don't fight the fed...

I wouldn't bet my life savings on them, they don't always win. IMO they started to fight this too late and had to cut too quickly, they miscued and now have nothing left .

It's always darkest before the dawn...

how can you expect to see dawn when we have only just approaching Dusk?

By the way parker, Nasdaq was 1984 a few minutes ago, only 5 points above your Turnaround Tuesday remark. Are you ready to cry "uncle" yet?

Edit

Correction, Nasdaq now trading below your turnaround Tuesday call.some rally, 8 days to build 5 to tear down

NEW YORK, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Goldman Sachs Group Inc.(NYSE:GS - news), one of Wall Street's premier investment banks, said on Wednesday it filed documents to
sell 6.1 million shares of common stock currently owned by a Japanese bank.

DUBAI, Aug 8 (Reuters) - Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has sold his stakes in fast-food giant McDonald's Corp (NYSE:MCD - news), soft drinks company
Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO - news) and consumer products maker Gillette Co (NYSE:G - news), a spokesman said on Wednesday.

And these are only the reported headlines, I am positive there this is already snowballing .

Looks like foreigners are pulling there assets out of the US. Like I said before, if they pull there money out of the Us , the US dollar will fall, if is falls, the markets in the US are doomed to fall with it. No foreigner would want the double whammy of falling investments with falling dollar , he would get punished twice. This is now becoming self fulfilling as many many headlines are demanding a lower US dollar to help the economy.

Kiss any Rally potential good bye

Got GOLD? <gggg>
